Las Vegas - August 2004 In what's turning out to be our favorite destination, the two of us made our way out to Las Vegas once again in August. It turned out that Jeff's parents were there for a few of the days we were there and so we did stuff with them and then we had time to enjoy our own vacation once they headed onto their driving tour of California. We had a chance to check out the Cirque De Soleil show, Mystere - which is one of the most amazing things either of us have watched. You sit there wondering how they do half the stuff they're doing and it's just all so different from anything else you're used to. Jeff got to spend one day in Zion National Park with his father, hiking in The Narrows of the Virgin River at the very upper reaches of Zion Canyon. It was pretty nifty - walking up a river with several hundred foot high cliffs on either side of you. When we were actually in Vegas, we stayed at the New York-New York Hotel/Casino, which while it wasn't as bad as Circus Circus or Excalibur, it definitely didn't hold up a candle to Mandalay Bay, especially when it came to the pool. That was okay though - as it had a good casino and plenty of restaurants. Here are the shots of us in Vegas...if you want to see shots of Jeff in The Narrows, go here...
