Slide Mountain

A small trek up Slide Mountain along an un-trailed ridge turned out to be quite the adventure. Starting out at the trailhead for Giant Ledge, Jeff climbed with his father and friends along a ridge for about 4 miles, through thick balsam fir forests, past a weather station and finally to the summit ridge of Slide. Once up there, we took the old steps trail back down to the Winooski Lake area. It was a hell of a day hike and Jeff's got the holes from spruce branches all over his body to prove it.
