Pecoy Notch - July 2003 Both of us went for a hike up to Pecoy Notch in the Catskills over the 4th of July weekend. Wasn't a long hike, but we wanted to see whether the beavers were still in the pond up in the notch. The beavers were gone, but the pond still had a bit of water left and the whole trip, including the stop in Dibble's Quarry, was well worth it and a lot of fun. If you're interested, this trail starts off the Roaring Kill Road in Platte Clove and you can either go up to Pecoy Notch or Mink Hollow and loop over Sugarloaf Mountain, or go over several other mountains if you have 2 cars to make a shuttle to the other trail heads.
