03/20/2005: "finally..."

On an epic shopping day that lasted from about 10 in the morning until 9 at night, I managed to find time to stop in at the Verizon store, check out my plan and finally upgrade my old phone to the new LG VX7000. Not only can it take pictures, it can take video and probably a whole bunch of other shit I haven't figured out yet.

Yeah, I splurged on myself and it felt good.

The day also included a bunch of other shopping including everyone's favorite trip to the gay mecca known as Home Goods (actually the selection didn't grab me this time), a stop at REI where in addition to using my yearly club dividend, I managed to find plenty of stuff to spend money on (I came home with a new backpack), then it was electronics stores for Sharon to hem and haw over cameras (she didn't end up getting one, but she was close), followed by hours of wandering the gigantic halls of Home Depot looking for gardening stuff for the impending spring. Beyond houseplants and seeds, I also got the Roomba for the house - it was on sale and how could I pass up a gadget to clean the house? The things a little robot that's supposed to vacuum the floor automatically - since it was on sale I figured what the hell, it's got to be better than actually vacuuming. There was even a stop at another sporting goods store because Moe too wanted new clothes for jogging - now we are equally outfitted with new running shoes along with everything else.

Please keep us posted with how well the Roomba works. I've almost purchased that many times now.
