03/10/2005: "you think this is a long winter..."

It’s starting to get funny to listen to people complain about the weather. I was in the bathroom and these two guys were like “oh my god, this winter is just so awful.” Apparently people don’t think it gets cold and snows in the winter.

I swear, they want snow on Christmas and then want spring in the middle of January.

Hell, when I was in school at Lyndon, it snowed on the last day of the spring semester which was at the end of May!

We ran into Jessica and Martin while grocery shopping last nigh, which beyond stopping at Wendy’s was the extent of our evening. We tried to clean a bit when we got back, but I gave up and went to bed – I think I was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

Did you know that Prince Charles narrowly escaped an avalanche on this day in 1988? Just think, if he had been caught in it, he wouldn’t have been able to marry that horse of a woman that he has now

I decided to put the banner back up – I was tired of just seeing text up there.

Yes, while I haven't joined the white ear-bud army of the iPod, I have come close, but I saved myself a few bucks in the process and got a pretty cool player.

"I remember one winter the snow was so high..." Old farts - never!

People have no memory, Jeff. Several years ago we had an ice storm in April so bad that Wellesley was without power for a week and at my house in Roslindale I was without electricity for four days. I tell people there's a reason this place is called New ENGLAND but all I hear back is "the calendar says it's spring."

You realise, of course, that we're starting to sound like a pair of old farts.
