03/07/2005: "that katamari is fab fabulous..."
Now if you’re ever out in the Amazon rain forest and you need to cross a piranha infested river, just remember…1 - never cross if you have an open wound since blood draws those little devils awfully fast; 2 – don’t jump in when you see them swimming around feeding, they’ll think you’re just the second course; 3 – cross the river at night since the buggers sleep at night, or at least are resting; and 4 – be as quiet as you can so they don’t realize your crossing.
You can impress your friends with your Amazonian river crossing skills now.
Mondays are always hard, especially after a long weekend. This morning was no exception. Moe and I were up fairly late playing Katamari Damacyon the PS2. Not only is it accidentally incredibly gay, it’s campy and it’s freaking addictive. You’re the little prince pushing this sticky ball around rolling up everything in your path as you get bigger and bigger. By the end of the game you can roll up sky-scrapers your sticky ball is so big. Add in the poorly translated japanese, the fact that the king of all the cosmos has a package that would make a go-go boy blush, and the 'movie' interludes - you'll be rolling on the floor laughing and be addicted to getting the largest katamari you can.
Not only that, we were snacking on M&Ms I had brought back from NY with me. I forgot exactly how hyper chocolate can make you, especially when you haven’t eaten any sort of quantity in quite some time. By the time I laid down around 11 last night – I was ready to run around in a marathon. I don’t think I even started to fall asleep until sometime after midnight, or at least that’s the last time I looked at the clock.
Our 8-year anniversary is next Tuesday, damn did that one sneak up on us. We were both going to take the day off and go somewhere Monday night into Sunday – but as is typical, Moe can’t get the day off because of some issues and I am running tight on vacation time. So instead – we’ll both get out early and go somewhere nice for dinner. At this point in our relationship, what more do we really want than just to have a nice quiet evening together.
That said, we’re always up for gifts – Amazon wishlists are available, but for simplicity cash always makes an excellent gift – you can help us with gambling money for Vegas!
Okay, okay – I know, wishful thinking…I’m perfectly happy with a some “Happy Anniversary’s” on the big day.

Congratulations on the upcoming 8th. Fritz and i follow to the eight year mark by two months. Go do something fun and romantic--just don't cross any rivers with piranhas. :-)

Amazonian river crossing skills - That is hilarious. It had me laughing in my seat. Perhaps the best advice I would give someone intending to cross an Amazonian river is... DON'T! Nice blog.

I freaking LOVE Katamari Damacy - I can't get enough of it...waiting impatiently for the sequel.
You may not be able to spend it in Vegas, but Happy Anniversary in advance!
