03/03/2005: "new skin"
In celebration of the increased sunlight (it was actually daylight when I left the house this morning for work) and the hope of impending spring, I shaved the beard off. I kept the goatee and have some nice sideburns now – but I figured the beard had kept me warm through winter.
That and I heard ‘god you look so much older with a beard…’ from several friends who will remain nameless, but they know who they are. At this point in my life I don’t need to be adding years to my look.
Looks like we’ll be heading out with a group to see Margaret Cho in Boston when she visits the city in May with her new show. I think there are six of us at this point – so we’ll make a night of coming into Boston out of it.
Our vacation plans are still up in the air with nothing having yet been finalized – it should be finalized tonight (fingers crossed).
The stuffiness continues, though I do feel better – so I guess day by day to wellness.
Last night I was going to make dinner – but by the time I had gotten home, started to attempt to pick the house up and thought about making dinner, I just gave up that thought. Especially after Brendan called and asked if I wanted to do something when Moe got out of work – since he was going away for the rest of his break. Let’s see – go out or stay home and make dinner – going out won the battle.

I'm sure you knew this questions was inevitable...but will we get to see pictures of you beardless and with the goatee?
Ah, Margaret Cho. I love seeing her live. She used to do workshops in Ptown in preparation for her two big shows (that are on DVD). I got to see her perform in this tiny space at the Unitarian Church where she stood just inches away from me. Another time was at the lesbian club, Vixen (where she was a matter of feet away). It was a big difference than when I saw her at the Berklee Performance Center in Boston!
