02/24/2005: "race the snow"

While I did finally decide to come into Boston this morning, it looks like I’ll be racing against snow this afternoon after this meeting I’ve got out west. The snow is supposed to start sometime around 3 or 4 out there and that’s about when the meeting will be over. Hopefully it’s not too bad until after I get home.

Tomorrow’s trip to the Cape though is more in question – they’re calling for a foot or so of snow out there by morning and I’ve got to get down there for the meeting. I’m thinking though it’ll stay on – the snow is supposed to be over by morning and I’d think the roads shouldn’t be too bad by late morning when the meeting starts.

I couldn’t get going this morning – I got about 10 minutes from the house when I realized I didn’t take my cell phone. Normally I wouldn’t have cared – but considering all the driving I’m doing today – I turned around and got it. So that started me out late – and then the trains were screwed up on the green line for a bit – so that made me even later. Figures the day I’m going to be here for just a few hours – nothing commuting wise can work on my side.

My father wants me to come to NY next Friday and go to a meeting he’s having with some state officials. I don’t really mind going (beyond having to wear a suit) and I’m thinking he wants some support – so I’m thinking about it. Plus I’m going to be the eventual landowner stuck with the problem – so I’ve got a stake in the situation.

So perhaps next weekend will be a long one for me…

Moe’s been feeling under the weather lately – and he’s such a damn bitchy sick person. He gets home last night while I was downstairs doing laundry – I come up and he’s on the couch, blanket over him – going “oh I’m so sick.” I had to laugh at him even though I know he doesn’t feel good – it was just such a sight.

I think he was feeling better when he got up for work with me this morning. He seemed a bit less congested at the very least.
