02/04/2005: "disgrace to the human race"

It’s so hard to stay even remotely motivated when working on a Friday, especially as the afternoon gets deeper and deeper. I swear, I just wish I could have a cot in my cube for times like this – take a nap for the rest of the day.

The strangest homeless man accosted us outside our building after lunch. Well, I’m not sure he was homeless – he seemed to well kept up to be homeless – perhaps he was just drugged out. He walked over to the three of us with a drunk/high gait and then tried to shake our hands. We all refused and he proceeded to tell us how we were all disgraces to the human race (I’m not emphasizing the rhyme, but he did). He then stood with his hands on the hips in front of us telling us how disgusting we were and then walked away and did it to the next group of people.

I had my hands out of my pockets for this one – he was that strange.

They have yet to find my missing direct deposit from last Friday. Yes, a week later and one of my direct deposits is in the land of the lost. They had the wrong account number originally and since then, the bank has no record of the deposit, but according to the records here, the money should have been put into my sweep account that I designated for mistakes. However, it wasn’t – and so I’m still short that money from my paycheck.

I can’t say I’m exactly happy about that – but at this point I’m like “just fix the problem so it doesn’t screw up next week’s deposit,” because we can work on the missing money now, but I don’t want every deposit to get messed up in the future.

Woke up to about 2 inches of snow after the weather was like “maybe only a flurry.” I’m just hoping it melts so I don’t have to plow – it’s supposed to be in the 40’s this weekend so I am not going to worry about it. If it’s still around Sunday night, I might consider plowing.

Thank god it’s Friday, that’s all I can say. Tomorrow Moe’s got to work in the morning and it seems like we’ll be going out in the evening I think – not sure exactly what’s planned. Then on Sunday it’s going to be skiing – Moe’s wanted to go to Mount Sunapee or some other place in southern NH/VT so I think we’ll be able to make it this time.
