01/10/2005: "yup, another jacket"
Today on my survival calendar I’m learning how to take a punch in the stomach. Tighten up your muscles, make sure you haven’t inhaled and try to shift slightly as you are hit to deflect the blow.
Yes, your daily survival tip…
I should have changed the damn t-shirt when I put it on this morning, but I said to myself “it’s not that tight.” It’s one of those shirts that fit perfectly well for a while but has subsequently shrunk slightly in the dryer since I’ve been using it frequently as an undershirt and not just a t-shirt. Well, it’s just tight enough to make me feel ever so slightly uncomfortable and I know I’m going to spend the day thinking to myself how uncomfortable the shirt is.
American Eagle was having a clearance sale on winter stuff and when we were at the mall yesterday, I just couldn’t help myself, I had to have one of the jacket’s that they had on sale. Yes, I’ll add it to collection Moe calls ‘outrageous,’ but I love jackets and I just had to have it. As I always say – you can never have enough jackets. I like to think that I have a jacket for all occasions and almost any outfit.
Brendan and Moe were like “another jacket,” as I noticed all the clearance jackets. I was good though, the Gap was also having a sale on jackets and I really liked those too – but I only got the one. Actually the whole time we were at the mall and shopping yesterday I only got the jacket, so I think that wasn’t too bad.
Something was screwed up with the T this morning. I stood at the station for a good 15 minutes before a train showed up that was packed (and I’m only the 2nd stop on the line and the train is never packed). By a few stops after that, the train was standing room only. Luckily I got a seat and I only had a frumpy old lady sit next to me.
Moe’s off with Sharon to wish Amy down in Connecticut a Happy Birthday. Part of the trip is playing bingo at Foxwoods and thus considering that I would have had to leave work early, I would have gotten home super late and I would have to play several hours worth of bingo – I’m just going to take it easy tonight at home. I told Moe to play a card for me.
Bingo is strange and at Foxwoods it’s even stranger. The place is huge and the people there get way too much into it. Plus now that I don’t smoke, I don’t think I could stand being a room with all those people smoking.

Haven't we all enjoyed the other Foxwoods activities (some of us too much...)
Now gay/drag bingo sounds a lot more exciting that Bingo at Foxwoods - I might just have to join you out there.

I've never played Bingo (though, I've enjoyed other Foxwoods activities).
In the summer, Provincetown has a gay/drag Bingo which I think could be a blast. I may have to try it out.
