01/03/2005: "survive this"

The only solace in returning to work this morning is that Annoying Coworker is out today and thus, while I do have to face the fact that I have to work again after a week of vacation, at least I don’t have to face her. Her vileness would probably drive me over the edge on my first day back.

I’m really digging the new Dunkin Donuts gift cards – I got several and now I just go and get my coffee, hand them my card and I’m good to go – total cashless transaction. Of course though, the one here in my building managed to mess it up this morning – “oh no, we don’t take those cards…”

I’m going to a post-Christmas Christmas party with Moe and Sharon tonight. A Christmas party in January just seems strange.

Our living room is half-assembled – yesterday Moe and I decided we needed something new – and started throwing out, cleaning out and re-arranging. We even went furniture shopping and ended up with a new end table. It’s starting to look good.

Survival Tip of the day – if you are adrift at sea and see a plane or a boat – try to signal it. In place of Dilbert (which was too eerily like my office), this year I have the Worst Case Scenario Survival Guide’s daily calendar courtesy of a gift from Brendan.

I put up the Miss Richfield 1981 calendar in my office http://www.missrichfield.com/

Do you think it's inappropriate?
