12/24/2004: "Happy Holidays!"

Merry Christmas Eve!

It figures – both Moe and I came down with our typical fall cold 3 days before Christmas. We both started with sore throats on Wednesday and yesterday it was the whole thing – head cold, coughing, sore throat, achy joints – and of course we had left everything Christmas until the last few days.

I was at home because I just couldn’t get out of bed – but at least by the afternoon I could function around the house – so I wrapped and wrapped – and cleaned up since we are having his family over tonight. Then he wrapped and wrapped and then we started up the cheesecake for tonight – since it was requested. We didn’t finish cooking the damn thing until 11 last night.

Today I feel somewhat better – except that the cold has moved completey into my nose and sinuses – I’m one big walking stuffed sinus at the moment. I’ve got my nose spray and cold ease cough drops (they really do work at shortening a cold and making it not so bad) so I’m ready to go.

So far I’m the only one in the office…I wonder if anyone else is coming in…

After the get together tonight, Moe and I are off to NY to my parents’ house to spend Christmas day with them – and we’ll be returning late sometime on Sunday night. Then I’ve got a whole week off to enjoy! I don’t have any specific plans (anyone want to go skiing with me up in VT or NH? – email me), but the fact that I have a week off is such a good feeling.
