12/15/2004: "the perfect blazer"

While I am the proud owner of a new blazer that has saved me from having to wear a suit today, the staying out until all hours of the night at the mall did get the better of me, especially after being out so late the night before.

It all started innocently enough at Marshall’s while I was looking at new dress shirts when I said “if I just get a sportscoat, I don’t have to bother with my suit,” and off to Filenes and Macy’s to search out the perfect blazer.

That didn’t take much time, but then the three of us started Christmas shopping elsewhere, Moe and I checked out wedding stuff and we got Sharon a leather jacket after much looking.

Dinner didn’t start until 10:30, which we realized is after most restaurants in Natick and Framingham close – so our choices were fairly limited.

So in hopes of not staying up past midnight again tonight – and since Moe is working tonight, I’m planning on getting home, making dinner and then crawling into bed and catching up on the missed sleep.

It sounds like the week that I have off between Christmas and New Years is going to be fun. In addition to not having to work – I think there will be at least a trip our two out to the clubs in Boston with Moe, Brendan and some other friends and I’m sure there will be plenty of other stuff to keep me occupied.

My Mom has told me that Christmas will be catered this year and I was like “mmm…okay…” She’s tired of cooking (which Moe and I have actually done for the last several years), so she’s ordering everything ahead of time from this place near them in NY, picking it up Christmas Eve and then on Christmas Day, all we’ll have to do is warm it up.

I’m thinking that Christmas is going to be somewhat hectic. Christmas Eve both Moe and I are working and we’re celebrating Christmas with his family when we both get home that night. Afterwards we’re packing up and heading to New York to spend Christmas Day with my family and then the day after Christmas, we’re heading back here – I can only imagine the traffic on 84 through Connecticut.
