12/03/2004: "i don't see no stinking global warming"

It’s supposed to snow – well not really accumulate (though with the ability of weather forecasters lately, I’m not sure how much stock I put into that), but at least it’s supposed to snow. We’ve had a crappy late fall here – it’s neither been cold nor warm – and we’ve been in this sort of nether-region of weather where it's just gray and rains a lot.

I remember when I was little, I could ice skate at the pond at my parents’ cabin in the Catskills every Thanksgiving – for the last 5 years or so – we’re lucky if we can skate by Christmas. Right now it’s wide open – it hasn’t even got an inkling of ice on it.

Nah, there’s no such thing as global warming.

My Mom is already panicking about the “snow” because she and my Brother are coming up this evening. I was like “it’s a flurry,” but that doesn’t seem to calm her down. She won’t calm down until she gets here and I can go “see, it didn’t snow.”
