I just read an article on how Bill Frist, the Senate Republican Leader now wants to amend the US constitution so that marriage is just between a man and a woman. Doesn't our government have anything better to do than discriminate against LGBT people? I mean there are so many other issues out there in the world that should be garnering the attention of others, but no, we have to pass constitutional amendments banning gay marriage because the "moral fiber" of America is hanging in the balance. Guess what, the US would be a better place if everyone was treated equally an no one was better than someone else under the law. Even better, he claims that the recent supreme court decision can lead to "criminal activity" in the home, because now the courts will defer to the privacy of the home. Did he read the decision before he opened his mouth? The court specifically called out that it pertained to sex between consulting adults - that is, the government has no interest in telling two consenting adults how to have sex. Has nothing to do with anything else. Let's rally the conservative troops because once you can have gay sex without repercusions, it appears that they think that the world will fall apart. I really wish that instead of just the far religious right got their opinions out there? Where's the left, where's the democrats trying to do something? No, let's just let our born again leader and his radical religious conservatives run the country...
