Hi Jeff, I just found you on Epinions and checked out your webpages. I think you found me first. Nice to meet you. Happy Pride month!!! I too have this problem with improper use of freeway lanes. In many states it is actually against the law to remain in the left lane unless you are passing. In NJ, the highways will often have signs posted that clearly state "KEEP RIGHT EXCEPT TO PASS". Close to the state line, htere are a few signs emphasizing this point by adding "NJ LAW" to the keep right signs. Enforcement of this law is not too consistent though and the driving public's ignorance of this rule is infuriating to those driver's visiting from Europe and other regions where driver education and law enforcement strictly adhere to this rule. I wrote an Epinions review about this a couple of years ago but no one has visited that review in quite a long time. The Keep Right rule is indeed the most important rule of the road in my opinion. Keeping right after passing allows those who want to go faster to do so more safely, reduces the imbecilic habit of those who pass on the right by making it unecessary, and generally reduces road rage by leaving clear the passing lane and reducing lane blockages. I can go on a long time on this topic but will back off for now. Try driving in the UK (where Right and Left are reversed but it's still the same rules; Keep Left Except to Pass) or in Germany or the Netherlands and you will be pleasantly surprised to see proper lane useage on high speed freeways. Why can't Americans get it through their heads that correct lane useage improves traffic flow, reduces road rage, and makes driving a much more pleasant experience for everybody? Driving is a group experience where each vehicle is like a ballet dancer interacting. Passing on the left then pulling back in to the right lane is part of that ballet and keeps the flow safe and dynamic. Blocking the passing lane promotes passing on the right, tailgating, road rage, and unsafe behaviors. Bye for now Dave
